Yeah, my weekend was subpar this week. My mind was totally distracted all day saturday and sunday thinking about random things.
I had a leadership retreat on saturday morning, that was pretty cool, but i was sad when i found out that the girl that I was set up on a blind date with backed out. She texted me in the morning, so i checkedi t during the break. Hahha, i was thinking about it all afternoon.
However, I did like the video we were watching for the leadership retreat which really motivated me. I love african american preachers because they really bring it. Telling us to not just be in the huddle, but to play the game and go out. You know he is crazy in it. Ooh, i found a clip of the whole thing on vimeo. http://vimeo.com/10358893?ab
I like how at the end he starts running in place. If i ever preached or talk in front of people I would talk his way.
So the challenge from this leadership retreat was to talk about spritual matters with people that are non-christian. Talk about spiritual matters 5 times in the next month, and it has to be a real conversation not “hey, are you a christian”, then walk away saying “whew, I did it”.
Since I didn’t have a date, I ate lunch with the guys and gals from chruch. Since I got back onto beachbody insanity, my metabolism has kicked it back up a notch.
I was eating at Country Way in fremont, they have delicious french toasts, so I devoured everything in that picture (there were 4 slices of french toast at the beginning, and I did not eat the butter, and that bowl was daniel’s food)
However, I did get a lot of sleep in on saturday. Nothing planned, so I took that time to recharge myself from all the late nights I spent working on the chruch website (which is still not there yet, 10 more pages I have to remake. I didn’t know pastor josh made so many pages, 30 pages in the church website.)
I slept so much that I overslept chruch otday in the morning. My sister woke me up at 10am saying “you overslept chruch”. Then I looked at her and said “uh oh, I won’t make it in time for service now”. So I went back to sleep and will listen to the sermon when it is posted online later.
I started scavenging through boxes in the room downstairs to see what stuff was there. Found some dishes and other items that I will take with me if i buy a house. My parents really do have a lot of extra dishes.
As I was looking under the desk, I saw that the emachine celeron 366 computer was still there. I guess my dad has never had time yet to just destory the computer (which means take out the hard drive and bend/break all the pins). I might open it later and clean it out for him. But then i looked under a bed and found this 14.4 modem. Brings back find memories of trying to play Age of Empires. =)
Finally, I found this sitting in a box too. I think that is where I learned how to pray often. As a kid I would see that hanging on the wall all the time, so it is not ingrained in my mind to pray all the time because God is always there to listen. Since I don’t think my parents are using it, i’m going to pack it with me too.
That was my weekend.
