I went to a hockey game with chengjou and his sister. It was CMU night there, so there were all these Pittsburgh people there. I find it really interesting that there are so many transplants of other colleges to the bay area. Especially in the silicon valley.
However, I think you can tell the difference between what people grew up in Pittsburgh and then went to CMU, than people that grew up somewhere else and then went to CMU. Those that grew up in Pittsburgh, are much more die hard fans to sports. Mostly steelers and penguins. While my friends that were from maryland, or somewhere else, they don’t really care. They have no school pride, and they don’t really care who they root for in sports. Which doesn’t mean anything either way, except it isn’t as fun watching sports with them.
I do love to play sports, one of my favorite things is practicing. I have some friends that don’t like to practice, I’m not sure why they don’t like to practice. I think it is because it takes extra time, and isn’t as fun. I understand how they feel about that, but I think I know that practice is really for me to get comfortable and know I can do it.
I notice that if I take 100 basketball shots before I go play basketball later, my fg% goes up by 50%. I have a good feel for how hard to shoot that week.
